The Kestrel Legend SL Ultegra Di2 Bike represents the culmination of Kestrel's carbon fiber heritage and its sharpest expression of lightweight road engineering. Kestrel introduced the world's first all-carbon composite bike frame in 1987 — before carbon fiber was a production norm, before it was expected, when it was still an aerospace material being reimagined for cycling. The Legend SL carries that legacy forward with purpose: an 800K ultra-high modulus carbon frame weighing just 625 grams, built using a one-piece construction technique that eliminates the joints between frame segments entirely. That's not a marginal improvement over conventional layup — it's a fundamental change in how the structure comes together, and the result is one of the lightest road frames you can buy.

The one-piece construction matters beyond the weight figure. Traditional carbon frame construction involves bonding separate frame segments at their junction points, which adds material, adds weight, and introduces potential variation in stiffness across joints. Kestrel's approach to the Legend SL eliminates that. The frame is assembled as a single continuous structure, with 800K fibers — Kestrel's highest stiffness-per-gram carbon — running without interruption through those segments. What you get is a cleaner power transfer, a more predictable ride character, and a 625-gram frame that takes the full Ultegra Di2 build to around 7.1 kilograms. For a road bike at this price, that's a rare weight target.

Shimano Ultegra Di2 handles the shifting throughout. The electronic system eliminates cable stretch and mechanical adjustment from the equation — the front and rear derailleurs are tuned once and hold their precision indefinitely, without the gradual drift that mechanical cables introduce over time. The FSA Energy crankset runs a 53/39 chainring setup with an 11-28 cassette, giving a wide gear range suited to varied terrain. Paired with an Oval Concepts carbon handlebar, carbon-wrapped seatpost, and Vittoria Rubino Pro tires, the Legend SL is a complete, ride-ready road bike built around a frame that punches well above its price point.

Design Benefits

  1. 625g Frame from 800K Carbon: At 625 grams, the Legend SL frame is among the lightest in production road cycling. The 800K designation refers to the fiber's tensile modulus rating — a higher number means more stiffness per unit of weight, which is how Kestrel reached this target without sacrificing structural integrity. The fork adds just 310 grams, keeping the front end uncommonly light.
  2. One-Piece Construction, No Joints: Kestrel developed a unique production method that assembles the Legend SL as a single continuous carbon structure. Eliminating the bonds between frame segments removes added material at junction points and delivers a more consistent ride character across the entire frame. The process is more labor-intensive to build, which is precisely why it produces a better result.
  3. Reshaped Downtube and Chainstays for Stiffness: The Legend SL's boxy downtube profile and taller chainstays are shaped around the PF30 bottom bracket shell for improved drivetrain stiffness and efficiency. Where power transfer matters most — at the BB and through the chainstays — the frame geometry works with the carbon construction to keep pedaling energy moving forward.
  4. Thinned Seat Stays for Compliance: The 27.2mm seatpost and thinned seat stays work together to absorb road vibration at the rear of the frame, providing compliance on longer rides without requiring a more relaxed geometry. This is a deliberate design choice that gives the Legend SL a more comfortable ride character than its weight might suggest.
  5. Shimano Ultegra Di2 Electronic Shifting: Ultegra Di2 removes cable stretch from the shifting equation. Front and rear derailleurs maintain their tune consistently over time — no gradual drift, no periodic cable adjustment. Button actuation is precise and requires minimal hand force, which matters on long climbs when your hands are already working hard.

Final Take

The Kestrel Legend SL Ultegra Di2 is a road bike built around an exceptional frame at a price that reflects real value. Kestrel's 800K carbon and one-piece construction deliver a 625-gram frame that climbers and long-ride road cyclists will appreciate immediately — and the Ultegra Di2 drivetrain means the shifting quality matches the frame's ambitions. If weight is your priority and you want a road bike that traces its lineage directly to the origins of carbon fiber cycling, the Legend SL is the right place to start looking.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
